Understanding the Metallurgical Performance of Cold Agglomerated Pellets in Blast Furnace Conditions

London/Teesside 11 September 2025: Binding Solutions Limited (“BSL” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the publication of a technical research paper titled, “Understanding the Metallurgical Performance of Cold Agglomerated Pellets in Blast Furnace Conditions”. The paper was written by BSL’s Head of Ironmaking Technology, Peter Warren, Head of Research and Development, Richard Joyce, and Head of Science, Dr. Matthew Bennett.

The research paper found that BSL’s Cold Agglomerated Pellets (CAPs) meet all ISO standard specifications, whilst higher temperature disintegration properties, undertaken using BSL’s bespoke Blast Furnace Simulation test, were on a par with indurated pellets.

This indicates that BSL’s CAPs can be used as a drop in replacement for commercially available pellets.  BSL’s technology also delivers reductions of up to 86% in capex, 80% in energy usage and 70% in carbon dioxide emissions.

The paper was presented at the 10th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking in Beijing by Matthew Bennett.
